I would be interested in meeting up with the group during the mentioned time frame June 8-14. I am only 235 miles going the "Fun Way" from the Gap.. Will only be staying 2 nights.. Ride Up/Drink up/Sleep/Ride/Drink up/Sleep/Ride Home.. anyone interested in sharing a campsite or a room hit me up!

David Hardy Excellent! I look forward to meeting you. It looks like we have a pretty full house this year. Rumor is two riders are coming out from New Mexico to join us as well.

David Hardy at some point the mapping software here will make sharing routes much easier ... but for the time being ...

All, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to pull out due to work circumstances (recent change of job) that will not afford me the time off I want for this trip this year. Someone can have my room spot. Alas, maybe next year.

I think the room costs 109 per night. I think we only have 3 people in the room right now. You'd make four if I'm not off by one. So that'd be $27/night. It's the cinderblock cell accommodations of the gap resort but we enjoy it because of the proximity to the firepit and goings on.

I forgot to tag Bob Seal in this thread. Being the great enabler I suggested he might want to break away for a couple of days and join us.

99,999 and the Blue Ridge Parkway

99,999 and the Blue Ridge Parkway

Coincidentally, the bike hit 99,999 just as we rolled up to the southern section of the Blue Ridge Parkway. It seemed strangely fitting.

    22 Years Later

    22 Years Later

22 years ago I bought my bike to go cross country to Alaska with Duncan, the man on the left. Bruce, the man to my left, flew and and joined us in California.

5 years ago we started the tradition of a week long trip down to Deals Gap.

It seems strangely fitting that we are still riding together all these year later and that it happened to just be the three of us as my bike broke the 100,000 mile mark.

I hope this turns out to be one of them.

What's Wrong With This Photo of a Gold Wing

What's Wrong With This Photo of a Gold Wing

The pilot of this Gold Wing was the fastest guy we saw on this trip. "I replaced the stock footpegs with these. I prefer the sound they make." he said.
