A gravel mountain pass with a dramatic overlook. Some switchbacks as I remember it.
Another mountain pass. Not as good as the one North of here. Technical. Sketchy tar snakes in some corners.
This was a right proper serious switchbacks mountain pass that was much more intense than the others we had crossed in the area. It rocked.
This is a beautiful moderately technical, as I remember it, forested mountain road. It had fresh chip seal that was a bit sketchy in some corners. There is this crazy long steep hill on this road which would be quite a challenge on a bicycle.
I didn't take any notes through here. I remember big vistas and steep drop-offs but will have to ride it again.
Double yellow wooded mountain road. We liked this road. Traffic was pretty heavy on 26 around 11 when we traveled through this area but started to let up significantly once we got onto 305. Nice ride.
This is an excellent narrow twisty bouncy forested mountain road with occasional stretches of houses. This has long been one of our favorites. WARNING: Where it meets with Route 16 on a downhill slope towards the stop sign, we encountered deep loose chip seal which led to an off. Be cautious on these roads. Chip seal is a recurring danger.
I thought this was going to be unpaved. It's a wonderful bumpy narrow forested mountain road with a single faded yellow line in the middle. Very nice. There are a number of camps off it.
A very small wood twisty very little mountain road with a few stretches of houses. Very nice.
A very nice wooded mountain road. This is the detour around the Harpers Ferry Road closure.
Valley road is a bouncy twisty suburban small mountain road that then goes into bottom land. Very fun connector.
Curvey. Hilly. Wooded. Double Yellow. Moderate traffic and houses. Fast. Fun.
This is a wonderful forested hilly twisty little toad that travels along a creek. In places it's a lane and a half wide. The pavement is patched but generally in good shape. It's very pretty in places. I thought this was going to be like the other roads west of here but it's quite different in character. It feels like a miuntain toad.
This is a surprisingly nice road for the area.
A very small wooded driveway sized bottom land road that follows a stream.
This starts out as very nice narrow double yellow bottom land wooded curvy road the follows a pretty small river then turns into a just wonderful fully paved mountain forest road. No line. Very pretty fun little road that you would not think is paved all the way through.
Deep gravel for quite some distance then it turns into hard packed dirt. Not recommended for novices. Parts follow a beautiful mountain stream. I paced a blue heron flying above and to my right for some way.
